The first one is luscious, like a luxurious silk scarf... but my eye keeps being drawn to the second last one. I love how the thistle seedheads (I think? Or eryngium?) are dimensional while the rest of the painting is flat. That does nice things in directing your eye back up and around.
These paintings are great. I want to know if you are using canvas. Do you know much about canvas-stretching-machines and how they work? All in all, it's a fantastic blog and great artwork!
